Saturday afternoon, we received a text message letting us know that our mission call could be viewed in the Missionary Portal. Mom was just getting ready to go to a Relief Society activity with Emily, Becky, and Stacy, but didn't want to wait for it. So, we went in the bedroom and opened our call.
We have been called to serve for 18 months in the Canada Toronto mission. We will be serving as MLS missionaries, utilizing our Spanish (as well as English, I'm sure.) We wanted to wait to let all the kids know first, so Molly had to keep her secret from the girls.
Sunday, we contacted the kids and their families and let them know. In doing that, we found out that Scott, Emily's husband (our upstairs neighbor 😉) served in the same mission a number of years ago. We hadn't remembered that, so that was pretty sweet.
We start at the MTC in Provo on July 14th. We will live here at home and commute there each day through Friday the 18th. We are to leave on the 19th. We don't know, yet, if we will fly or take our vehicle - details to be figured out.
So, we are very grateful and excited as we prepare for the next two months to work with the good members and leaders in the Canada Toronto mission.
You two will be such a strength to the Canada Toronto Mission. Many lives will be blessed. The Mission Leaders are going to love having you there.
